‘Hidden Gem’ is the story of Erwin Springbrunn.
Born in Germany in 1939, Erwin made his home in County Roscommon in 1984, together with his wife Doris where they also worked the land to live sustainably.
He was a unique craftsman, an exceptional goldsmith and an extraordinary gemstone cutter.
No two pieces of jewellery were ever the same. Each was a work of art. The shapes were fluid and sweeping, influenced by Celtic Art and the nature and growth that surrounded him. Get an insight into his creative process by viewing his sketchbooks and seeing the original pieces come to life off the page.
His works grace private and public collections in Ireland, the UK, America and beyond.
His creations hang in the National Museum of Ireland and the Basilica in Knock, among others.
