Wed Oct 28th Daren Lane, Pianist

Over the last 20 years, he has performed solo recitals in London and Athlone. As the accompanist of Athlone Choral Society, he regularly accompanies the choir and special guests including singers & instrumentalists.  He gives piano recitals from time to time at St Mary’s Church Athlone.

Daren gave a lunchtime recital in King House, Boyle as part of Boyle Arts Festival with Galway soprano Helen Hancock in a programme that featured art song, arias and solo piano repertoire.  Daren and Helen repeated the programme in the lunchtime recital series at St Ann’s Church, Dawson Street, Dublin in August 2026.

Daren plays the organ and sings at St. Mary’s church, Athlone, fortnightly at the 12noon holy Mass on Sundays and Feast days, where he promotes sacred plainchant.

In addition to performance, he is a highly experienced piano teacher with teaching posts in London, Roscommon town, Athlone and most recently in Coole Music and Arts, Co. Galway and also privately in Ballyforan.

While he performs in different areas of the piano repertory, he has a particular affinity for the music of Mozart, Schubert, and Schumann.
